New Tambayan
Since I can't use the internet at home (I'm at war with my irritating mom as of the moment), I will do most of my internet work here at our office's cafe. It's quite homey here. There's a TV which uses a Satellite connection (Dream TV). We have PC's which can be used for surfing the net and playing games. A PS2 also for playing games. And a Cafe where we can order our favorite coffee drinks. Yesterday I lasted 4 hours staying here, using the internet and playing PS2 and now almost 4 hours have passed since I ended my shift and I'm still here, using the internet and playing PS2 alternatively. Got a bit addicted playing NBA Live 2005 hehehe! I wish I can own a PS2 soon to make me stay at home. Maybe when I go abroad...
Work wasn't that good today though I did quite well when our QA officer listened to my calls. I didn't have call control, I know what should be done and yet I let the caller take charge of it. I also feel awful because some people I've talked to are really desperate for money. I had a caller yesterday who got frustrated that there's no way for him to withdraw the money he has in his account. He was already shouting "I don't have a bank account. I don't have a credit card. I'm disabled!!! $68 may not be much too you but it is to me!!!" I feel bad for him, and for other callers who are in the same situation. After a long time, I have truly felt how it feels to be in a customer's shoes.

Kudos!
It came as a surprise for me today. I received my first kudos (commendation) call for satisfying the customer's needs. I thought it will end up as a bad call 'coz I really didn't understand the caller's situation at first (3 of us are in a conference call together with his friend) but they were very patient with me until I found a solution to their problem. He wants to cancel some of his payments but unable to do so because he's blind. Company policy prevents us from cancelling the accounts of our clients, but since his friend was on the other line, I asked him if he can do it for him and walked him through the process. Despite of me not being able to speak that well caused by lack of sleep, they gave me all sorts of praises... and asked for my Supervisor.
Normally, I refuse giving the call to a supervisor. I don't wanna be recognized for it, but in this case he was really insistent so I called our QA Officer even while she's on break to take the call.
Here is the email that was forwarded by our QA to my Coach (Supervisor):
"I got a Commendation from Mr. Estes for Reggie. Mr Estes was very pleased with how Reggie walked him through the process of canceling his Subscription. He said he was sympathetic and very accommodating. Reggie according to him is an epitome of a model customer service representative. He said he would surely appreciate if Reggie is properly commended for the Great Job he did today And he deserve all the raise and promotion for being an excellent rep! thanks."
who forwarded it to our team:
Another satisfied customer from the team! Ü Great Job REGGIE !!!! Team, lets join Rigs’ and Reggie’s league of extraordinary gentlemen and hopefully women will soon follow!!!!
which was replied by our Team Leader:
Go REGGIE!!! I see much passion in you..
It was quite flattering, and it gave me the much needed boost to help me improve my performance.

Might be going back to a Pocket PC
As much as I want to convince myself that I am satisfied with my Palm Tungsten T, I am not. After using the T|T after almost a month, I'm contemplating whether to sell it or not. I'm having a hard time with its reflective screen. Battery life is also an issue especially when I play mp3s. I couldn't believe that after listening for an hour the battery life is already halfway! With these 2 issues combined, I don't get to watch videos anymore during my freetime (my memory card is not that big anyway)

I may upgrade to a Tungsten T3, which has far better features and a brighter screen. But buying a second hand T3 is not that cheap (for me). I still consider this though because it has a brighter and larger screen, not to forget that you can use landscape mode for working on excel files or watching widescreen videos.

I have to admit that I'm feeling a bit tired of using this OS. I miss the features of a Pocket PC. I feel more productive using them because of its ability to multi-task. If I am lucky to get a deal, I might get a Mitac Mio 558 or a Dell Axim X5 with Wi-Fi card. The 558 is better because of its built-in Bluetooth, WiFi, and mini-usb feature. The x5 however doesn't have built-in bluetooth and wi-fi, but at least the CF WiFi card is available with the package. Size is also a major issue with the X5, but it's also hard to resist because an extra batter is also included in the package.
Once I get a reply from the owners of the Mitac Mio 558 and Dell Axim X5, I might sell my Tungsten and go back to the world of Windows Mobile - where I think I truly belong.

Sleep
I posted in my LJ journal about the average sleep I've been getting these days. Yesterday, for some reason I became really sleepy. Maybe because I ate too much during lunch. Slept around 6 p.m. despite of the heat in my room, supposedly waking up by 7 even without having to turn my alarm clock on. I woke up in surprise to see 12:56 a.m. blinking on my clock. Geez! I forgot to turn on the lights while sleeping which could've make me wake up earlier. I forgot to get the allowance in my office which I can only claim during Monday or Thursday evenings. I was supposed to be with my officemates for a drinking session. What else can I do at 1 a.m. so I slept again for a few more hours. Woke up again at 5 and decided to finish playing Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.
Will have to do some errands today like paying my bills and also check some stuff in Greenhills. Have to go to my alma mater, La Salle Greenhills to get my Alumni card which I've been trying to get since July of last year!
Regarding the change to Pocket PC, the owner of the Dell Axim X5 has already sold his unit but the good news is I was able to get in touch with the owner of the Mitac Mio 558. I'll just have to wait for his reply if he can sell it to me directly. I hope the deal will push through.

Bidding
My current work involves eBay.com, the world's online marketplace. I don't have much idea about it since I never buy or sell an item through online bidding. Now I threw myself into this process to buy the Pocket PC that I want and to sell the Palm that I have. I hope everything goes well in my favor, especially on getting that Mitac Mio Pocket PC.
By the way, if I do get the Pocket PC, this will be definitely the PDA that I will be using until I get a brand new HP Ipaq 2710. The Tungsten T shoudl've been that way.

I Won the Bid!!!
I am in total ecstasy!!! I've just won the bid for the Mitac Mio 558 Pocket PC in eBay!!! Nobody else cared about the ad except for me. Who would've ever thought of winning the bid for this Pocket PC which has features like dual CF and SDIO/MMC slots, IR, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, USB host all for only 8,000 bucks??!!!
I had just talked to the seller minutes ago and I will be going to his place tomorrow to check out the unit. By next week, whether the Palm Tungsten gets sold immediately or not, I will be able to pay him for the unit. Boy, I'm excited!!!
Like what I've said in my previous post, this will be my current workhorse until I can afford to buy a brand new Pocket PC in Singapore. I'm thinking whether to buy an additional 512MB SD Card or an IR keyboard.
Windows Mobile, here I come again!!!
