I'm the New Proud Owner of this Latest Ultimate Device...

Happy New Year to me!

Happy New Device!

Welcome, the Imate JasJar!!!

A New Year, A New Hope!

The holiday season is over, and so is my busy sked. I'm still exhausted from the small business I handled. I'm glad it's over.

I just want to say something.

2005 wasn't kind to me, but it gave me several lessons in life. No matter how bad the previous year had treated me, I'm glad that I'm still standing up and became a stronger person. My goals remain the same, and I am hopeful that I will be able to reach them step by step.

As I lit my fireworks at the last minutes of 2005, I didn't curse at it unlike the previous year. Instead, I said thank you. I'm not bitter about 2005 anymore.

Thank you Lord for being there with me all the time!

Happy New Year to everyone!

Honeymoon ended after a week

A week after I received my I-mate Jasjar, some clumsy lady in our office bumped me and my new device fell to the carpetted floor. The clumsy lady never stopped saying sorry and I acknowledged it, which was a mistake. I turned on the Jasjar and it seems to be working fine so I let her go. But I noticed that when I tap the 'Start' button, the Calendar application turns up. And whenever I tap Vbar, Contacts comes up. I realized that the screen orientation is abnormal after opening different applications so I decided to do a softreset. Didn't work so I did another one. And another. And another. And another without any luck. Called my friend Rey who's  the previous owner to tell my shocking problem and suggested going to the screen orientation section in Settings. I did as instructed and I was stuck there forever. The Screen Orientation kept on asking me to tap on areas where it wanted me to tap. Hopeless about the situation, I decided to do a hard reset, even if I wasn't able to backup my files. Screen Orientation was there again, and again, it endlessly asked me to tap until I got tired.

I was in a state of shock. I just got this Jasjar for only a week and I thought why does it have to happen this soon! I'm beginning to be a jinx again <sigh>. Consulted some help from xda developers' forum and I also did try to do their suggestions without any luck. For the rest of the day, I checked different websites hoping I could find solution to my problem. In the end, I given up and decided to ship it to the U.S. for repairs. It's still on warranty anyway.

When will I ship this, I don't know, but hopefully it can be shipped soon and get it back before the end of the month. For the meantime, I'll just use my O2 XDA IIi and I'm quite thankful that it hasn't been sold yet. At least I still have a Windows Mobile device in my hands.

Auntie and Uncle are here for a visit

My uncle and auntie from Canada had just arrived for a 2-week visit and I'm glad that they're here. Too bad they won't be able to see my Jasjar (see Anything Tech dated January 8) but I still have my XDA IIi to impress. Last time we saw each other was 6 years ago and I'm sure they were surprised to see us now, me having a big tummy and have aged a lot and my brother who also has a big tummy but that's excusable as he is already a father of 2. My uncle kinda aged a bit since I last saw him but my auntie still pretty looked the same.

I didn't ask for any pasalubongs but the shirts given to me are wonderful enough! I was made to choose 2 among 4 but I want to own all of them hehehe!

My brother and I are now the unofficially assigned drivers for them. Before, my cousin used to drive them around but since he's in Canada now then I have no choice but to make myself available most of the time to drive for them.

It's gonna be a hectic 2 weeks for me...

O2 Xphone II

Found a good phone for my cousin. It's an O2 Xphone II! This Windows Mobile-based Smartphone was released last year but this is the only time that I'll get to use it thoroughly. Compared to the HTC Tanager (which I used to call my "TanaGirl" found on the early date of my blog) and the Voyager, this is definitely a whole lot better in size, appearance and performance.

I wish I can own one as my 2nd phone. The size and weight is really great and it's really pocketable. I'll be using this phone for the next 2 weeks before it goes to its new owner.

Baguio Time!

I'm going to Baguio for the first time this 2006. I haven't had any sleep yet since I got off from work but I guess my body can handle it. I want to feel the cool air and going there at this time is perfect!

Too bad Jasjar can't make it to Baguio

<sigh>

I'm sure the Baguio peeps are waiting to see my I-mate Jasjar but due to the unfortunate event that happened last Sunday, they'll have to wait for another time. The roadtrip later will have to make do with my XDA IIi's WMA (Windows Media Audio) collection. The whole trip should've been accompanied by my Jasjar with an "in-flight' movie of your choice.
